According to the Dermatology Institute of Spain, poor skincare habits damage the skin’s appearance faster than when good skincare practices are used. Some of the most evident signs of poor skincare are bags under the eyes, outbreaks and sun spots.

How to avoid these types of imperfections in the skin

  •  Sunblock is key. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, sunscreen is the only barrier between the skin and UVB rays, which are the rays that cause sunburns and can also cause skin cancer. Sunscreen also protects you from UVA rays, which are the rays that accelerate aging.
  • Get good sleep. The body needs between 7 and 8 hours of sleep. When this does not happen, the cells responsible for the skin’s elasticity do not function properly and bags under the eyes and wrinkles can be seen more easily.
  • A healthy diet. Foods such as vegetables, meats and fish help provide the nutrients you need to have radiant skin. To have healthy skin you need to include vitamins A, B and C (vitamin C contains antioxidants, which slow the aging process), quality proteins and healthy fats. Processed foods and sugary drinks, on the other hand, contribute fats and sugars in proportions that are not beneficial to achieving healthy skin.

Tip. For well-hydrated skin, drink half a liter of water a day.
