Some recommendations for better understanding the portions or rations from some basic measurements of our hands.

A fistful: Is equal to 1 cup; 1 portion of carbohydrates.

Finger: Is equal to 1 tablespoon. Useful for measuring, for example, the amount of oil.

Hand Palm: Is a round 3 ounces, equal to 1 portion of protein, such as fish or chicken.
