

Preventing dementia: Take action before it’s too late

Aging is the main culprit of cognitive impairment. Other lifestyle-related risk factors, however, can also affect the development of diseases such as Alzheimer’s.
Physical and mental inactivity, social isolation, depression and having a low level of education all play roles in causing these types of conditions. In light of World Alzheimer’s Day 2017, we would like to share the following infographic from the World Health Organization that includes data on the symptoms, effects and challenges of dementia, a condition in which 60% to 70% of its cases are caused by Alzheimer’s.
