According to the University of Austin in Texas, United States, anxiety manifests in the form of both emotional and physical episodes that arise unexpectedly and may or may not have an explanation.

Anxiety is a very common condition. The World Health Organization states that up to 20% of the world’s population suffers, or will suffer, from this condition at some point in their life. According to studies conducted by the University of Austin, experiencing a certain degree of anxiety in difficult situations is normal: it is one of the body’s mechanisms to keep the mind alert, it improves concentration and it helps us deal with different situations as they arise.

Anxiety is a problem, however, when it becomes a pathology. In such cases, hereditary factors may be involved, or it may be circumstantial as the result of an accumulation of problems.
