The human body is composed by fat, lean tissue (muscles and organs), bones and water. After 30 years of age, people trend to lose lean tissue. The amount of body fat also increases in a constant manner. Older people can have almost one third more fat compared to the fat they had when being young. Around half an inch (almost 1 centimeter) is generally lost each 10 years after 40 years of age, and even faster after 70 years of age.
Living a healthy life that includes a balanced diet, regular practice of exercise and a good sleeping hygiene can reduce body’s changes.
