NEWBORNS (UP TO 1 YEAR)

  • We recommend that parents register newborns for the closest “Growing up with Comprehensive Healthcare Units.”
  • We teach parents about breastfeeding and about how to begin supplementary feeding.
  • In order to prevent common diseases, it is crucial to keep your baby’s vaccines up to date according to their age.

CHILDREN (AGES 1-11)

  • We recommend that children get eye exams when they turn 4.

  • We suggest getting an eye exam if this has not already been completed.
  • In order to prevent common diseases, it is crucial to keep your child’s vaccines up to date according to their age.

YOUTH (ages 19-26)

  • We provide guidance on how to lead a responsible sex life and in family planning.
  • We can help you with alcohol and smoking prevention and cessation.

  • We can assess you in the early detection of breast cancer and we provide cervical cancer screenings. We can also educate you on preventing colon, prostate, stomach, skin and lung cancer.
  • Remember the importance of completing your lab exams every 5 years if they return normal (total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, glycemia).
  • Remember: mammograms are to be completed every 2 years after age 50, women’s bone densities can lead to osteoporosis (or other conditions such as early menopause or the prolonged use of steroids), and colonoscopies should be conducted after age 40 (for patients with family histories of polyposis coli or colon cancer). If the colonoscopy is normal, it should be repeated every 10 years.
