If you experience any of the following conditions frequently, see a specialist to get a diagnosis and avoid complications.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), headaches, stomachaches or tooth and gum sensitivity – among several other symptoms – tend to be mistaken for moderate discomfort. Ignoring these symptoms, however, may make it more difficult to diagnose serious diseases.
It is therefore important to identify those symptoms that indicate something is not functioning properly in the body. Some of these warning signs include:
Headaches. An intense onset headache may be a sign of a brain aneurysm. According to the WHO, 5% of the U.S. population experiences brain aneurysms, even though the majority of people do not experience pain nor are not aware that they suffer from them. Factors such as smoking or having a family history of brain aneurysms increase the chances of having one.
Tooth and gum sensitivity. This may be indicative of a cavity or other oral health problem. If this infection is not treated on time, the bacteria can cause damage to the nerves in the teeth and you also run the risk of bacteria spreading to other parts of the body.
Severe abdominal pain. An intense pain in the lower corner of the abdomen, in addition to nausea and fever may be a sign of appendicitis. Another possible explanation for such pain is an ovarian cyst.
